Coregas Supports Launch of First Public H₂ Station in Australia

Coregas was proud to support the official opening of Viva Energy’s hydrogen refuelling station in Geelong, the first public-access hydrogen refuelling station in Australia. The event marked a significant milestone in the nation’s transition to zero-emissions transport.

The new facility includes four hydrogen dispensers (350 and 700 bar), two 350kW EV chargers for heavy vehicles, and four diesel dispensers, all under one canopy. A 2.5 MW electrolyser provides up to 1,000 kg of hydrogen per day, supported by a dual-electrolyser and compressor setup to ensure system redundancy.

The opening was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles and Victorian Minister for Climate Action, Energy & Resources Hon. Lily D'Ambrosio. Hydrogen-powered vehicles from various suppliers were showcased, including refuse trucks, buses, and prime movers already designated for commercial use.

Coregas high capacity H2Trailer and hydrogen packs were used in the commissioning of the station, giving the Coregas brand strong on-site visibility during the event.

Post the launch, Coregas had the opportunity to exhibit at the Hydrogen Expo at Geelong Stadium, where key industry players were invited to present. Coregas drew strong interest from visitors including CSIRO, universities, and Victorian businesses, giving us the opportunity to create new relationships.

The Geelong project signals growing momentum in Australia's hydrogen sector, and Coregas is proud to contribute to the development and delivery of clean energy infrastructure nationwide.
