The Essential Guide to Gas Bottle Refills in New Zealand

In today's fast-paced business environment, ensuring a steady supply of gas—whether for industrial, medical, or commercial purposes—is crucial. Coregas Industrial Gases caters to these needs, providing reliable gas bottle and LPG refill services that keep your operations running smoothly. Regular refills are not only essential for uninterrupted service but also for maintaining safety and efficiency standards.

Types of Gas Bottle Sizes

Gas comes in various sizes, each catering to specific needs and usages. Coregas offers a variety of gas cylinder sizes, denoted by letters, with larger volumes and heavier weights associated with later letters like G size. LPG cylinders are instead labelled by weight in kilograms, such as 45 kg, with "FL" indicating suitability for forklift use. The smallest individual cylinder at Coregas is C size and the largest is G size, though this may vary depending on the gas type. Common sizes include D, E, and G. It's important to note that cylinder dimensions and weights can vary based on gas type, volume, and fill pressure, with all provided measurements being approximations.

For high-volume needs, Coregas offers cylinder packs, which consist of 6, 12, or 14 cylinders linked by a manifold, allowing continuous gas use from all packed cylinders, thus minimising downtime associated with cylinder changes.

Gas Safety When Transporting Gas Refills

In New Zealand, gas safety is paramount and encompasses extensive guidelines for the use, handling, storage, and transport of gases. Resources include safety literature and posters, ensuring awareness of general gas safety practices. Key standards and guidance, such as those from ANZIGA cover the safe handling of acetylene, manual handling of gas cylinders, and procedures in case of emergencies. They also specify requirements for gas cylinders, pressure regulators, and the safe use of portable gas systems in processes like welding and cutting. These measures are crucial for ensuring safe and effective operations involving gases.
