Helium balloons for Mitchell Ray

The staff of Regional Gas in Dubbo has launched an innovative fundraiser using helium-filled balloons for the family of Mitchell Ray. These balloons, in Mitchell’s favourite colours, are started to appear on Dubbo mailboxes in memory of a little boy who touched the hearts of residents across the city.

Over 100 residents dropped into the depot on Douglas Mawson Drive on the first day of the campaign. More than $4,000 has been raised so far, and Coregas will match the donations made.

The seven-year-old boy died in Sydney on Sunday 6th of December after almost a year of treatment for stage-four mestastic neuroblastoma.

Regional Gas is hoping Dubbo residents will tie balloons to their front fences in coming weeks to show the Ray family just how much little Mitchell’s courageous battle has inspired the entire community.

If you want to get involved, simply drop into the depot, pop a donation into their box and they’ll inflate a helium balloon.
